Clean more than just the stain

A small area of non-film-forming oiled wood can often be refreshed locally, but absorbency and colour must be tested rather than guessed.
A local repair works best on an evenly oiled, absorbent surface. On a UV-oiled or hardwax-oiled finish, or where there is marked discolouration, the repair edge may remain visible.

Confirm the original oil system and use an inconspicuous test area to check whether the selected care product wets the surface evenly and dries correctly.
Spread the oil in the direction of the wood and remove any excess.
Assess the colour only after the drying time specified in the TDS; a wet surface always looks darker.

It cannot be guaranteed. The age of the wood, light exposure, previous products and absorbency all affect the colour transition.
A conventional maintenance oil may not penetrate a non-absorbent UV-oiled surface. After testing, LOBA lists film-forming Permanent OilCare or NatureWax as possible alternatives.
Observe the full-traffic time in the selected product's TDS; for several maintenance oils it is 12 hours under standard conditions.
The surface type, depth of damage and previous care determine whether the correct route is cleaning, maintenance layer, oil, 2K Contact or sanding.
